Chester Low Rise Slim Straight

After much deliberation, I ordered this pair of jeans along with a pair of the Ludlow Mid-Rise. The sizing tool has me baffled, but intrigued and not sure how this story will end, yet. The sizing tool recommended a size 25 for me (5’2”, 110 lbs, age 58, slight meno-belly). I ordered both in size 26 because I wanted a slightly slouchy fit. The Chester Low Rise are comfy in the waist, albeit a little long inseam, which I anticipated and is accurate as advertised. The Ludlow with a shorter inseam were the perfect length, but snug in the waist. Makes some sense when you consider low-rise vs mid-rise. I’ve sent the Ludlow back to try a 27. I appreciate the unlimited return/exchanges option since these are investment pieces and I hope to enjoy for a long time. The quality of the jeans is exceptional and they feel great. Once I dial in the waist sizing, I hope to try the Addington Ankle Crop next. I am hoping my overall rating will be that these are both expensive, and worth it.

Love my Chesters - finally a real low rise jean with minimal stretch! I'm a boot / flare girl, but this is the only current low rise OL has, so I went with it! The button fly is nice - honestly button vs zip doesn't bother me at all. I sized down from a normal 27 to a 26 (I wear a 26 in Crosby too) for the Dark Aged Vintage wash, and I'm glad I did! I could probably even go down to a 25 in these, but I like a more relaxed fit. They are a little long on me even though it's a 30" inseam, so I will probably cut to a raw hem. For reference, I'm 5'2", roughly 140 lbs, athletic build (thicker thighs for sure), with normal torso and short little legs! This is my second pair of OL and I would LOVE them with a wider leg and a lighter wash like the 4 year vintage OR the vintage worn (which is currently out of stock). Might get the Vintage Worn when it restocks. I also have the Dylan Maxi skirt, and it's amazing! The only return I've made with OL is a dark wash pair of Crosby that I tried in petite - the rise felt the same, but the rest of the jean fit tighter and it just wasn't my jam - the return was easy though!
